LINKING & UPDATION/MODIFICATION OF IEC CODE

APPLICABILITY:- All individuals and every other entity who is a holder of IEC Code is required to update IEC Code every year between 1st April and 30th June, irrespective of whether there is any change in the particulars of IEC Code or not.

                   For FY 2021-22 the last date to update/ modify IEC Code has been extended to 31st july 2021.

                        If the holder fails to update IEC Code before the due date his/ its IEC Code shall be deactivated and can be re-activated after complying with the above requirements and upon payment of penalty.



HOW TO LINK AND UPDATE/MODIFY THE IEC CODE:-  follow the following steps:

·        Visit www.dgft.gov.in

·        Click on the log-in tab

·        Register yourself on the portal if not previously registered.

·        Sign-in using the log-in id and password.

·        Click on the link IEC tab on the dashboard.

·  To link the IEC Code you will get two options (a) Through Aadhar OTP (b) Through Digital Signature

         Let’s discuss both the methods:-

(A) THROUGH AADHAR OTP- If you want to link your IEC through Aadhar OTP, you require following details:-

> PAN Number of Individual (Proprietorship firm)/Partner (Partnership firm)/Director (Company), Individual (Proprietorship firm)/Partner (Partnership firm)/Director (Company), Date of birth.

·   Enter the above mentioned details at the concerned places on the portal and then click submit, after successful submission you will get an OTP on the mobile number linked with the Aadhar card, thereafter enter the OTP and click on the link button. Your IEC code will get linked on the portal. After successfully linking your IEC on the portal you can update/modify your IEC Code particulars by clicking on the update/modify tab

(B) THROUGH DIGITAL SIGNATURE:- For linking your IEC Code through DSC you need DSC of Individual(Proprietorship firm)/Partner(Partnership firm)/Director(Company).

·       First of all you have to register your DSC on the portal (if not registered earlier) by clicking on:-

Log-in> My Dashboard> Register new DSC

· For registering your DSC you need to download the utility available at https://embridge.emudhra.com/

·        Any type of DSC can be used for any type of organization i.e. whether class 2 or class 3, whether individual based or organization based.

·        After successfully registering your DSC on the portal you can link by clicking on the Link IEC tab and thereafter update/modify your IEC Code particulars by clicking on the update/modify tab .
